By providing writing workshops to people in deprived communities, prisons, detention centers, and schools for at-risk youth, Cedar Tree, Inc. helps participants gain self-knowledge and instills self-reliance as they explore issues such as race, culture, addiction, community, and responsibility. A series of Cedar Tree, Inc. documentaries chronicle workshop successes and bear witness to the transformative power of reading and writing. Cedar Tree, Inc. has developed a set of learning tools available to educators on request. |
